I am digging into learning about AdSense. There are a lot of things to learn about setting it up. I think it will be something good to use in the future and I hope that I can learn some more by writing it here.
One of the blogs that I read that I liked was from Gray Wolf’s SEO Blog. There was a ton of info there that helped me out a lot. I learned from his post that you shouldn’t put up anything to do with AdSense until you’ve been posting your content for a while. Then, the webcrawler has time to actually see what type of content you have and then more accurately post links when you implement AdSense. That makes sense.
I also liked how Gray Wolf talked about the site design and integration. There are specific places on the blog or website that are best for placing adds. I will make sure that when my site is designed, that there are places dedicated for this.
I learned about affiliate links and how placing them on other sites is probably not the best thing to do. I need to learn more about affiliate marketing in general, but for now, I’ll keep that in the back of my head.
From this post, I learned about how to make AdSense look better on my pages. This is one of the things that I don’t really like about AdSense in general. They just don’t flow aesthetically with most pages and help to enhance or contribute to them.
I started reading John Chow and his free E-book. I’m going to read and study more about how he did it and what he does. He talked a lot about being passionate about what you’re writing about. I think I hear this all the time, so, it must be important. 🙂
That is all I have for right now. Lots more to learn.
Any other ideas for good sites to check out?
John Chow is a good source of info. Some other good places to look are The Rich Sage and Shoe Money who made over $100k in one AdSense check. One bit of advice is to just get started. Place a 468×60 AdSense ad at the end of each post. Google will make sure the ad is relevant and you may make a buck or two.
Chase,
Thanks for the comment. It is appreciated. Also, thanks for the links. I’ve never heard of The Rich Sage before, so I’ll go and check him out.
You do good work yourself. Thanks a lot.
Rob
